Prince William has spoken out after a woman was arrested for allegedly breaking into Prince George’s prestigious London school on Tuesday.

Kensington Palace made a brief statement about the incident following the woman’s arrest and now William has elaborated further, telling patients at the Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool “it’s been an interesting week”.

The prince was on royal duty on Thursday, but was happy to chat about his four-year-old son’s first week at Thomas’s Battersea in South London.

While the break in was certainly enough to shake even the most stoic of parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge seem to be taking it in their stride and focussing on keeping George happy and excited about school.

Speaking about his first school drop off, William joked that “most of the parents were in floods of tears. The kids were all fine,” reports People.

He said George was settling into school life surprisingly well, but wasn’t sure how long it would last.

“We are all seeing how long that lasts before he doesn’t want to go!” he told hospital patients. “George has been really easy. He hasn’t said, ‘Have I got to do this for the rest of my life?’”

The BBC reported that George was at school on Tuesday, but was believed to have been off campus at the time of the break in.

Touring the Aintree University Hospital  on Thursday, William happily chatted with patients and staff throughout the morning and spoke to 87-year-old patient Teresa Jones about George and Charlotte’s excitement about Kate’s third pregnancy.

“George rules the roost but Charlotte isn’t far behind!” he said adding that his two-year-old daughter will be “trouble when she’s older.”

Both William and Kate are reportedly committed to dropping George off at school as often as possible in light of their royal duties.

Thomas’s Battersea is located about 5km away from the young royal family’s home at Kensington Palace.

Do you think William and Kate are taking the right approach with in this situation? Do you think George should be given more protection at school?
