Eagle-eyed royal fans were delighted this week as they spotted a number of family portraits, as well as some sweet hand-painted pictures, scattered around Prince Charles’ home office.

A new photograph of Prince Charles working from his home office in Birkhall, which is the prince’s official Scottish residence, was shared on social media by broadcast firm Global to mark a special two-part programme that the heir to the British throne recorded for radio station Classic FM.

The snap shows Charles, dressed smartly in one of his signature suits, being interviewed by UK broadcaster – and gardening guru – Alan Titchmarsh, with the pair communicating virtually via video chat. However people were far more interested in discussing what they could see in the Prince of Wales’ office.

On his desk, a number of framed family photographs are visible, featuring sentimental photographs of his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well as his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. While in the background, yet more photographs can be seen, including one of Prince George, taken at the christening of his sister Princess Charlotte, along with a number of hand-painted pictures, including several rainbows which were most likely created by his grandchildren in support of the NHS.

One follower wrote: “Love George’s picture.” While many people also commented on how messy and disorganised the royal’s desk is, with one person writing: “A messy desk, I’m told, is the sign of a creative mind. Or it just could be Charles uses the same filing system and I do – the scatter effect is really a variation on stacking – know where things are in the scatter – or at least where they were yesterday!”

Just last month, royal watchers expressed their delight over a never-before-seen photograph of Prince George, which could be seen behind Charles as he delivered an update on his health after testing positive for Covid-19.

The British heir addressed the public via video from Birkhall in April, and while many were relieved to simply hear that he was in good health, other eagle-eyed supporters were more interested in what was going on behind the prince.

The shelves visible behind Charles in the video are lined with all manner of books, many of which appear to be very old and fragile with damaged or faded sleeves, the prince also had a number of photographs on display – and it was one of a young baby that got people talking.

Many speculated at first that the young tot may be Charles’ youngest grandchild Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, others pointed out that it was actually more likely to be a snap of his cousin, Prince George. One follower commented: “How beautiful that you have a photo of Prince George on the background. Get well soon.”‘

While it is impossible to say for certain that the photograph does show the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s eldest child, it seems likely as Prince Charles has previously shown off a photograph of George as a baby wearing a similar-looking outfit.
