‘Someone cocked this up’: X-rated image spotted in Cyclone Penny forecast

As far north Queensland prepares for the onslaught of Tropical Cyclone Penny, people on the Internet noticed that the storm seems to have taken on a very raunchy shape as it re-forms over the coral sea.

The Bureau of Meteorology in Queensland shared an image of the cyclone redeveloping at sea on Wednesday. While it’s a serious matter for people in the Sunshine State, others have made light of the situation pointing out the storm system’s phallic appearance.

“Tropical #CyclonePenny has redeveloped over the northwest Coral Sea,” the message read. “Penny, Category 1, is expected to continue moving east away from the #Qld coast as it develops further.”

It didn’t take long for people to realise that the cyclone had actually taken the shape of male genitalia though, as one person joked: “Surely someone at the Bureau cocked this up!”

Another message read: “I’m sorry but your drawings shouldn’t be so specific.”

A third added: “It’s quite possible that nth qld is about to get a few good inches,” while another person said: “Urine trouble now”.

Jokes aside, the Bureau explained on Thursday that no direct impacts from the system were expected across Queensland in the short term, but a further update would be released later during the day.

Two days ago, the cyclone formed over the warm tropical waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria as a Category 1 strength system, but BOM manager Richard Wardle at the time said Cyclone Penny’s life would be short-lived.

“Tropical Cyclone Penny made landfall just south of Weipa around 4pm this afternoon, where it will again weaken to a low as it moves over the Peninsula and re-enters the Coral Sea tomorrow morning,” he said on Tuesday. “In the longer term, ex-tropical Cyclone Penny is forecast to move further out into the Coral Sea, where it may redevelop into a category 1 or 2 system later this week.

“It’s too early to determine the cyclone’s possible movement beyond this point, but some models indicate it could curve back towards the Queensland coast as a low.”

A flood watch had previous been put in place for catchments in the Cape York Peninsula, north of the Daintree and Mossman Rivers.

It’s not the first time people have spotted something x-rated in things that are meant to be innocent. A bakery from Minnesota made headlines last year after it debuted a cake on social media that people thought looked like the private parts of a woman.

The pink cake, known as a geode rock cake, was a one-of-a-kind design that featured pink frosting and decorations to make it look like a rock.

Meanwhile, a German company found itself in hot water when an innocent holiday advertisement of a couple on vacation had people across the world blushing.

Thomas Cook’s sister company, Neckermann was just trying to promote a fantastic holiday deal when their marketing poster turned into somewhat of an embarrassing blunder.

What was meant to be a promotion to entice people to jet off on holiday, the photograph at first glance appeared much more sexual than intended due to the unfortunate placement of a man’s hand.
