Singing sensation Rod Stewart will perform at the Glastonbury legends slot in 2025, much to the excitement of his adoring fans.
Taking to Instagram, Stewart announced his upcoming performance at the popular music festival, telling fans he is “proud and ready” to take to the stage.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing @glastofest 2025!” he began.
“After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”
Equally thrilled were Stewart’s fans who were quick to share their excitement at the prospect of seeing the Maggie May hitmaker perform.
“This will be amazing, you will rock Glastonbury like no other we will be there. Always wanted to go to Glastonbury and this I can’t miss ! Can’t wait,” one wrote.
“BEST NEWS EVER.”
“Good on you Rod,” commented another.
“I am so excited to hear this news! Can’t wait.”
Stewart’s announcement comes after the legendary rocker shared that he is stepping away from “large-scale” tours, with many expressing admiration for his decision to embrace a new chapter of smaller, more intimate shows.
Stewart took to social media to share his career update, announcing that while he has “no desire to retire,” he plans to step away from the bigger tours in favour of performing at “smaller venues.”
“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire,” he wrote.
“I love what I do, and I do what I love. I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.
“I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not…”
