The Parton family is mourning as one of their own has fallen to her own demons.
Tever Parton died of a suspected overdose at the age of 36-years-old. While the connection to the country legend wasn’t publishing the obituary, Dolly is indeed the aunt of Tever.
Dolly’s niece has battled with substance abuse in the past. It is something that Dolly has tried to help over the years. Dolly paid for Tever to enter rehab in 2006. Tever did complete the rehab but an arrest a few years later for public intoxication showed that her troubles were far from over.
Reports have stated Dolly is “too sick to travel” to the funeral for her niece. Starts at 60 have reached out to Dolly and her management for comment but have had no response at the time of this publishing.
Dolly is still in mourning from the passing of her longtime manager and legendary singer Don Warden last month. Dolly posted on her website, “I’ve known and loved Don Warden since I joined The Porter Wagoner Show in 1967. He was like a father, a brother, a partner and one of my best friends. I feel like a piece of my heart is missing today. Certainly a huge piece of my life is gone. Rest in peace Don and know for sure that I will always love you.”
