Singing sensation Rod Stewart has taken to social media to announce the loss of his brother, Bob, mere months after losing his other brother, Don.

Stewart, 77, posted a tribute to his brother via Instagram who sadly passed away at the age of 88.

“It’s with great sadness that I announce the loss of my brother Bob last night, who joins my brother Don on the great football pitch in the sky.

“I’ve lost two of my best mates in the space of two months.

“RIP Don and Bob ‘irreplaceable buddies’.”

Fans were quick to offer their condolences to Stewart while offering their support to the singer during what must surely be a difficult time.

“Sorry for your loss, Rod. My grandparents were friends with your parents, Rod. My nan told me that Don had a lovely voice. RIP,” one fan wrote.

“So very sorry for your losses. It’s so difficult to lose someone so close but when it happens again within such a short timespan, ugh, it’s a sucker punch. I’ve been there. My heart goes out to you and your family.”

“My heart goes out to you remember the moments and hold them close to your heart and the memories that made you smile and laugh just being together much love to you rod.”

“You are blessed with a beautiful family and so sorry for your loss – the downside of having wonderful people, a wonderful family is the loss really hurts when they are gone, RIP.”

“Oh Sir Rod I’m so sorry . What an awful time you’re having . My deepest sympathy to you and your family.”

It’s the second loss that Stewart has had to endure recently after losing his other brother, Don, in September this year.

Don’s death came shortly after the Queen’s which Stewart labelled “a devastating 48 hours”.

“We lost my brother Don on Tuesday at 94 and today we have all lost Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 96,” he wrote in a post to Instagram at the time.

“The Queen has been an unwavering presence throughout my life and a great unifier. A shining star that will never fade in our hearts and souls. What a privilege it was to perform for her. My deepest sympathies to the Royal Family. God save the King.”
