Hugh Jackman, 53, and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 66, have celebrated a major milestone this week, snapping a candid pic together on a romantic day at the beach in a touching tribute to the couple’s “extraordinary” 26 years of marriage.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, April 12, Jackman shared the loved-up snap alongside the caption, “Today I celebrate 26 years of marriage to my extraordinary wife.”
“Every single day is filled with so much laughter, joy and backgammon,” he wrote.
Jackman went on to express his overwhelming love for Furness, holding little back as he revealed his feelings to his millions of fans.
“Deb you light up my life,” Jackman professed.
“I love you with all my heart!”
Fans wasted no time commenting on the post as they wished the happy couple a joyful anniversary.
“Happy Anniversary, Hugh & Deb. Wishing you an eternity of love! May it shine brighter than the sun! #truelove #perfectcouple,” wrote one fan.
“All the best you two. I love the love you share!!” commented another.
A number of noteworthy names including Packed to the Rafters’, Rebecca Gibney and Aussie TV presenter, Angela Bishop, also congratulated the couple on their special day, referring to the duo as “beautiful souls” and “two brilliant humans”.
Jackman and Furness first met on the cast of the Australian mini television series, Corelli. Jackman admitted he felt an instant attraction to Furness, confessing during an interview with Sunday TODAY that he “knew two weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives.”
The couple were married in 1996 and share two children together; a surrogate daughter, Ava Eliot, 16, and an adopted son, Oscar Maximilian, 21.
