The world is mourning one of our fondly remembered actors today from Bonnie & Clyde and Tango & Cash.  Academy Award nominee Michael J. Pollard, known for his roles in Bonnie and Clyde, Star Trek and Tango & Cash, has died at the age of 80.

We remember his breakout role most fondly as C.W Moss the accomplice-turned-snitch in Bonnie and Clyde in 1967 which also starred Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty.  Pollard enjoyed nominations for an Academy Award for supporting actor and BAFTA for most promising newcomer. He went on from this strong career start to star in films like “Dirty Little Billy,” “Melvin and Howard,” “Roxanne” and “Tango & Cash.”

More recently, he is known for his 2003 role in House of 1000 Corpses, and his director Rob Zombie from this was the one to break the news of his death overnight on Facebook.

“We have lost another member of our ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ family. I woke up to the news that Michael J. Pollard had died. I have always loved his work and his truly unique on screen presence,” Zombie said in his post. “He was one of the first actors I knew I had to work with as soon as I got my first film off the ground. He will be missed.”

His last role was enjoyed by viewers in The Woods in 2012.

Michael Pollard was born 1939 in Passaic, N.J. USA and studied at Montclair Academy and Actors Studio in New York City in his early career. He started out in television in the late ’50s, appearing on shows like “Lost in Space” and “Star Trek’.
