Will your pension payment be affected this Christmas?

If you are relying on receiving your pension on a certain date during the silly season, be sure to check the dates just released by the Department of Human Services, which will be closed during the Christmas-New Year period.

Centrelink and call centres will be closed on the following dates:

 

  • Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2015
  • Monday 28 December 2015
  • Tuesday 29 December 2015
  • New Years Day, Friday 1 January 2016

The DHS tells us that during this time, Centrelink Online Services, Express Plus mobile app and Phone Self Service will still be available. You can use these services to report on public holidays, but payment will not be made until after the public holiday, and on the dates given below.
