In the realm of gardening, where preserving every leaf and stem is paramount, finding innovative solutions to common problems can feel like striking gold.

But what if the key to healthier plants and a thriving garden was as close as your kitchen cabinet? According to avid gardener Noah Young, the answer might just be a sprinkle of cinnamon.

In a recent TikTok video, Young shared his unconventional gardening tip with the world.

“Here’s a spicy tip for the garden,” he began, holding up a jar of cinnamon.

“Cinnamon prevents fungal diseases that often attack young seedlings.”

But that’s not all. Young went on to explain that cinnamon can also serve as a deterrent for ants and gnats, pesky pests that can wreak havoc on delicate plants.

“Cinnamon can help deter ants and gnats from attacking your young plants,” he said.

“Cinnamon can help heal plants by sealing up the wound and acting as an antibacterial and antifungal solvent.

“As long as you’re not over applying or adding too much to the plants themselves it’s totally safe for your garden.”

The revelation sparked intrigue among fellow gardening enthusiasts. Many have expressed their eagerness to test out this unconventional method, eager to see if cinnamon could indeed be the solution to their gardening problems.

“I’m going to try this. Thank you,” one avid gardener wrote.

“Super interesting!” commented another.

Fellow gardening experts are stepping up to provide valuable advice for nurturing our gardens.

Recently, the genius behind @joesgarden.official on Instagram, emerged as a green thumb saviour with a hack to ensure your herb garden flourishes effortlessly.

In an Instagram reel, Joe explained that potted herbs from supermarkets often contain multiple plants in a single small pot, leading to insufficient nourishment for their survival.

“I am showing you how to keep small potted plants, especially supermarket herbs alive. I’m pretty sure we have all bought fresh herbs from the supermarket, only for them to die a few weeks later,” he began.

“This might make you think you are doing something wrong, but often it has nothing to do with you, but much rather, it’s to do with how they are sold.

“A lot of plants bought at garden centres, nurseries and supermarkets are often grown and sold in tiny pots with bad quality compost, but more importantly there is another massive issue.

“They often sow multiple plants in one small pot, meaning they are fighting for nutrients, moisture and light. Instead I recommend removing from this tiny pot and spent soil and then gently separating the plants and repotting in their own pot. Not only will this help your plant survive, you will also end up with bonus free plants!”
