The bucket-filling tip you didn’t know you need

Share:

There’s a good chance the problem we’re about to describe is one that you’ve had, but you haven’t really thought about before. Sounds a bit strange right?

Modern homes are wonderful in so many ways. They have excellent heating and cooling which means no more chopping firewood and stoking fires, they’re often designed with functionality in mind so everything flows nicely, and they have the best mod cons which mean that everything happens at the touch of a button.

However, there are some things that they just don’t make like they used to. Well, actually, there are a lot of things they don’t make like they used to, but for the purpose of this article we’ll just be sticking to one thing.

That one thing, is sinks. Have you noticed that they’re shrinking? If you buy or move into a new house, you’ll find that more often than not they don’t have the huge trough sized sinks we’re used to in laundries and kitchens.

It may be a first world problem, but it makes it really difficult if you want to fill a large bucket of tub with water but you can’t even fit it into the sink under the tap. However, if you don’t have a hose attachment on hand, there is one clever trick you can use to help you out in this situation.

All you’ll need is your bucket, your too-small sink, and the shovel part of a brush and shovel set.

Place the bucket on the floor in front of the sink, and then put the shovel under the tap so the handle hangs over the edge, and over the bucket. When you turn the tap on, it will run down the shovel handle and straight into the bucket, no mess!

Do you have any other clever life hacks to share with us?
