Being the Queen’s granddaughter is bound to come with some perks in the wardrobe department, and Zara Tindall never fails to impress with her own vibrant outfit choices on public outings.

The mother-of-two, 37, lit up the marquee at the Gold Coast races in a black, red and white floaty floral dress which fell to above her knees.

She dressed up the summery look with a matching red fascinator and accessorised with a clutch bag of the same colour. Daring to mix it up however, she opted for some lilac heeled shoes at the outdoor event.

She looked in great spirits as she posed arm in arm with her rugby player husband inside, before joining friends to watch the races in the sunshine.

Mike looked the part too in a smart suit and pink patterned tie which perfectly complimented his wife’s outfit.

It’s a break from taking part for Zara, as just last week she competed in the Gold Coast’s Magic Millions Polo Tournament.

Meanwhile, it comes after Zara’s devoted husband Mike spoke openly in December about their struggle following a miscarriage two years ago and how the Queen supported them through the difficult time.

The former rugby player joined presenters on television show the House of Rugby over the festive season where he discussed how the royal family celebrates Christmas.

Sadly in the lead up to the big day in 2016, Mike and Zara tragically lost their baby. They understandably wanted to take some time away to grieve, so while the rest of the royals celebrated Christmas together, the two spent the day with the Queen.

“Two years ago, she [the Queen] wasn’t feeling very well and so she didn’t go to church, and we’d obviously been what we’d been through with our pregnancy that we lost, so we did our own little private – just as a three,” he explained on the show.

Although Mike said the Queen usually wears darker colours following the death of a loved one, he opted for a brightly coloured suit that day to bring some happiness to the day.

“I was like, ‘Maybe I should be wearing something a little different today’ but I was trying to raise the mood,” he added.
