She may be known for her glamorous ball gowns and stylish dresses on any number of red carpets over the years, but Rita Wilson has proven with her latest outfit that fashion doesn’t always have to mean sky-high stilettos and fancy dresses, as she stepped out in a very colourful tracksuit combo.
The American actress looked casually chic in a very dramatic floral patterned jacket and matching pants by Italian luxury brand Gucci as she attended the premiere of her new film Boy Genius in California earlier this week. The film follows a 12-year-old child prodigy who teams up with retiree Mary Locke (played by Rita) to solve a crime and save his family from splitting up.
Tom Hanks’ wife teamed the vibrant ensemble with a blue silk top and a pair of white sneakers in place of her usual stilettos. After all, why not opt for comfort once in a while? She accessorised with several necklaces, an assortment of rings and very natural looking makeup, which included a touch of blush and a pink lip, while she wore her caramel locks in soft waves for the star-studded occasion.
Meanwhile, Rita proved she is every bit a fashion icon as she showed off yet another stylish outfit last week, stepping out in a striking suit combo to attend a screening premier of the film. Rita looked incredible in the stylish ensemble, which included a tailored pair of peach-coloured pants, a black silk singlet and a matching black blazer.
Wearing her long hair in loose waves over her shoulders, the actress looked a million dollars as she posed for the cameras. Rita finished off the glamorous ensemble with black stiletto heels, a matching clutch and silver jewellery.
And it comes after she turned heads once again in a fitted metallic dress as she hit the red carpet at The Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s annual star-studded gala earlier this year.
Wearing her brunette locks in soft waves to the side, the star glowed as she posed for cameras at the event. Meanwhile, she finished off the glamorous ensemble with black pointed heels, subtle gold jewellery and a bright red lip.
The Women’s Cancer Research Fund, a program of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, supports innovative research, education and outreach directed at the development of more effective approaches to the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of women’s cancers.
Rita was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and underwent a bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. “After I got diagnosed, I was shocked and scared. I didn’t know what was going to happen,” Rita told Vanity Fair at the dinner.
“What helped me was my faith. I’m Greek Orthodox. I was raised in that faith, and I still have a very strong faith. That really helped me especially when things were so out of control. My husband, my children, my brother, and my incredible girlfriends also helped me.”
