Olivia Colman looked sensational as she arrived at the Oscars on Sunday evening – but it wasn’t her stunning choice of gown that got people talking, as the British actress showed off a brand new hair colour at the prestigious awards bash.

The Crown star debuted a striking new hairstyle as she posed for photographs on the red carpet, having recently dyed her dark brown locks a cool shade of grey.

Olivia, who won the Oscar for best actress at last year’s ceremony, looked incredible as she arrived at the star-studded event, wearing a floor-length velvet navy gown which perfectly complimented her new ashy blonde colour.

Olivia’s elegant gown featured statement shoulders and a sophisticated train, with a contrasting white lining. She kept her accessories simple, opting for a pair of emerald drop earrings and a statement black clutch bag which featured a large diamond embellishment.

The star, who shot to fame in British TV shows including Peep Show and Broadchurch, is not nominated at this year’s ceremony, however she won big in 2019 when she took home the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite.

She shared a series of images from the red carpet on Instagram during Sunday night’s ceremony, and fans were quick to comment on her new look.

One person wrote: “Omg. Look at your hair!!!! It looks amazing on you. Stunning as always!” Another commented: “Loving the blonde hair, magic.”

While another wrote: “LOVING the hair!!”

Just last week, Olivia was still sporting brown cropped locks as she attended the 2020 British Academy Film Awards in London last Monday. The 46-year-old wore a stunning embroidered black gown for the awards ceremony, which featured sheer puff sleeves and a floaty A-line skirt.
