Daily Joke: Storytime on a flight

A man and a woman are getting settled on their plane, fastening their seatbelts and gearing up for take-off.

The man pulls out his newspaper and starts to read, clearly preparing for a long flight, while the elderly woman next to him strikes up a conversation.

“Are you off to see family?” she asks. “No, it’s a business trip,” he replies, not particularly eager to chat.

Unfazed, the woman continues. “I’m on my way to see my daughter and my new grandson. You should see the photos she’s sent me! He’s absolutely adorable—takes after me, of course—and he’s so clever too, got the hang of breastfeeding in no time and he’s sleeping through the night already.

“Let me tell you about his sleeping habits; he manages a good eight hours every night. And his nappy changes, my goodness, we’re doing ten a day, and according to the doctor, everything’s looking as it should. The birth, though, that’s a story and a half. I’ll fill you in on the details…”

She stops, noticing the man’s growing irritation. “Oh, I’m sorry,” she says. “I haven’t let you get a word in, have I?”

The man’s expression lightens momentarily, until she adds, “So, what do you think about my grandson then?”
