Hollywood marriages rarely tend to stand the test of time but Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have proven once again that they’re the real deal.

This year marks 17 years since the pair first became husband and wife, with Catherine wearing a simple but stunning wedding gown as she walked down the aisle?

The Chicago actress has taken to social media to pay a tear-jerking tribute to her loving husband on their wedding anniversary.

The 48-year-old posted a photo of herself and Douglas on their wedding day with some truly moving words for her 73-year-old husband.

She wrote: “17 years ago today, I said ‘I do’ to my best friend and father of our two and a half month old son.

“Thought it could never get better than that day, but it did. Happy anniversary darling, Michael.”

She then explained how married life with Michael was like a never-ending party: “With you, in my life, and Dylan and Carys, every day could be a twelve hour fantastic party at the Plaza in New York. Love you.”

Fans flooded Jones’ page with well-wishes.

One person wrote: “Has it been 17 years? Wow! Happy Anniversary!”

Another fan added: “Happy Anniversary to the two of you! You two are so meant for each other. So happy you both found each other and the rest is history. God Bless!”

A third comment read: “That’s really amazing and wonderful all at once! Keep up the good love!”

The couple have been through a lot in their 17 years together so far, including Douglas’  cancer diagnosis in  2010 proving a difficult time for the couple, and Zeta-Jones checking into a hospital in 2013 for treatment for bipolar II disorder, having revealed in 2013 that she had been diagnosed with the mental illness.

They also separated for a brief while but reconnected and came back stronger than ever.

Earlier this month, the couple were looking loved up when they attended the Actors Fund’s Career Transition for Dancers Jubilee Gala in New York City.
