Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned underdog story?
Going In Style, a remake of the iconic 1979 film, is a comedy caper starring Starts at 60 community favourites Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin.
These three legendary actors positively sparkle as Joe, Willie and Al, lifelong friends who, after decades of hard, honest work on the straight and narrow, find their retirement pensions suddenly cancelled.
To reclaim the retirement that’s rightfully theirs – and to ensure their families are looked after – the trio decides to rob the bank holding their pensions.
With a wonderful supporting cast including Ann-Margaret and Christopher Lloyd, this feel-good comedy from director Zach Braff is absolutely packed with talent, warmth and heart.
Roadshow Films recently held some special Sydney screenings for our readers, and the responses were glowing, ranging from “cheeky” and “fabulous” to “heartwarming” and “beautiful”.
The film has now opened Australia-wide, and is getting enormous buzz from the Starts at 60 community. Have you caught it yet? What did you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
