Raise a glass to World Martini Day with this savoury twist on a classic

Cocktail Culture: A savoury martini twist is bringing bold flavour and a little glamour back to happy hour.

Martinis are having a serious moment again, but this time there’s a savoury edge to the trend. From dirty martinis loaded with olives to umami-inspired versions appearing across social media and stylish cocktail bars, drink lovers are embracing bolder flavours in their favourite classic serve.

Ahead of World Martini Day on June 20, this modern take from Regal Rogue puts an Australian spin on the iconic cocktail. Featuring the brand’s Daring Dry vermouth, the “Dripping Wet Martini” delivers a crisp, savoury flavour profile that feels elegant without being overly complicated.

Perfect for entertaining or simply winding down at the end of the week, this is one cocktail that proves the martini’s timeless appeal is far from fading.

Regal Rogue Dripping Wet Martini

Ingredients

  • 45ml Regal Rogue Daring Dry Vermouth
  • 30ml Crystal Head Vodka or Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin
  • 2-4 olives or capers, to garnish
  • Ice

Method

  1. Fill a cocktail jug or mixing glass with ice.
  2. Add the Regal Rogue Daring Dry vermouth and your choice of vodka or gin.
  3. Stir for around 18 seconds until beautifully chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  5. Garnish with olives or capers and serve immediately.

Tip

For an extra-cold martini, place your glass in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving. If you enjoy a saltier flavour, add a small splash of olive brine to create an even dirtier martini.
