Australian superstar Hugh Jackman has taken to Instagram to share a touching tribute to his beloved dog Dali who sadly passed at the age of 11.

The Greatest Showman star expressed to his followers that “it’s a very sad day for our family” after his four-legged friend passed away on Saturday, August 6.

“Dali, our beloved Frenchie, passed away last night,” he wrote.

“He would’ve been 12 next month … which I’m told is a long life for this breed. I always, always called him the ROCKSTAR. Because he was! He marched to the beat of his own drum, was beloved by the whole world, and boy did he have a good life.

“We will miss him but know he’s howling in heaven, ruling the roost and enjoying the all you can eat buffet. RIP Dali Rockstar Jackman. We love you!”

Fans were quick to offer their “love, prayers, and support” to Jackman and his family, many sharing how they enjoyed seeing Dali pop up in photos alongside Jackman.

“I’m soo sorry, Hugh! Dali was an important member of your family and he will be missed by soo many of us we are with you. RIP Dali you are a Rock Star and you will be forever in our hearts !!”

“Oh no I am so extremely sorry for your loss. My heart absolutely breaks for you. Surrounding you with all my love, prayers, and support,” one fan wrote.

“I am so so sorry! I had my Cavalier for over 15 years and I still miss him every day! My heart goes out to you!”

“Aww, I’m so sorry to hear this! Dali was so well loved by you and Deb. I always enjoyed your posts featuring him. Sending lots of hugs. It’s so hard when our companions have to go.”

Jackman adopted Dali in 2010 and since then the lovable pooch has featured regularly alongside the star on his social media feed.

Jackman shared the loved-up snap alongside the caption, “Today I celebrate 26 years of marriage to my extraordinary wife”.

“Every single day is filled with so much laughter, joy and backgammon,” he wrote.

Jackman further expressed his overwhelming love for Furness, holding little back as he shared his feelings to his millions of fans.
