The Chase’s Mark Labbett has wowed fans after shedding an astounding 60kg, crediting his incredible transformation to his golden retriever with helping him keep fit.
Labbett, 56, recently revealed his amazing weight loss on a UK chat show, praising his four-legged friend Baloo for helping him get into the habit of exercising regularly.
“My wife promised me that when we first got him she would take care of everything – feeding him, walking him and so on,” he said in comments published by The Sun.
“That lasted about two weeks before she decided ‘Actually Mark, look at your belly – you need the exercise!'”
He now considers the pooch his “personal trainer”.
“I was walking him around the fields, taking me places … I think he’s helped a lot, simply because I’m doing more activity.”
Labbett took to Instagram last month to share his weight loss progress.
Fans were quick to praise Labbett’s incredible transformation.
“Fantastic, well done. How much younger it makes you look,” one wrote.
“Well done, it’s not easy but keep going.”
“Great work. Your brain will be clearer now. You will always win. Congratulation. Well done. Very proud.’
“Fabulous, good for you sir.”
Labbett had previously opened up about his weight loss journey, while appearing on Loose Women, he said: “I am gradually dropping Xs off my size. I’ve gone from 5XL to 4XL and it looks like the next time I go shopping I’ll be able to squeeze into XL underpants”.
“I’ve lost 10 stone, I was 29 stone when I was a full-time teacher in 2003 and I was in danger of high blood pressure,” he said.
“I’ve been around 26 stone up until lockdown, and then a few things happened quite nicely and came together and I started losing weight.”
