Not only is Rod Stewart about to become a grandfather once again, but he will also receive an extra special treat when his grandchild arrives after it was revealed that the little one will be named in honour of the renowned singer.

When Liam Stewart, the son of the famous singer behind Maggie May, and his partner Nicole Artukovich welcome their little bundle of joy later this month, they plan to give him a meaningful name.

The baby boy is set to be named Louie Mark Roderick Stewart, with the middle name serving as a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather.

Recently the Stewart family gathered in Los Angeles as part of baby shower celebrations with Artukovich taking to Instagram to share some happy snaps of the occasion.

“Our little guy is so blessed. We have the most beautiful and loving family and friend,” she wrote.

“Thank you to my best friend Chanelle and my sisters for giving us a day to remember and my mom for hosting. We love all of you and all those who couldn’t make it but were there in spirit.”

Liam isn’t the only member of the Stewart clan expecting a little bundle of joy, earlier this year Liam’s sister, and Stewart’s daughter, revealed news of her own pregnancy.

Ruby made the announcement via social media with a video of her gender reveal party in which her father had the honour of revealing his future grandchild’s gender.

After opening up a piece of paper in front of the family, Stewart pumped his fist in the air as he excitedly declared, “it’s a boy”.

The 77-year-old made the bombshell revelation during a recent interview with the Daily Record where he announced that although he wants to move away from touring he is not planning on retiring entirely anytime soon.

“Next year will be the end of my rock ‘n’ roll touring. I want to do something different. It feels like an end of an era,” he said.

“All things must come to an end.

“I’m not retiring and I still love singing, I just want to do something new. I might do a few folk clubs playing guitar. Just be different.”

Stewart spoke candidly about how performing in the “big tours” had lost its appeal as it keeps him away from his children.

“I don’t want to do the big tours anymore, especially in America. It takes me away from my kids for so long,” he explained.

“It used to be OK because it was fun and games. It is still fun and games but I miss my kids so much.

“I’ve got one more year doing big gigs in South America, Australia, a Las Vegas residency, some more in England and a couple in Edinburgh.

“But I’m not retiring – I just want to move on.”
