Nicole Kidman has posted a series of throwback photos of her late grandmother in her younger years, and the resemblance between the two women is striking.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 51-year-old actress shared a sweet birthday tribute, captioning the post: “In loving memory of my grandmother who was such an important part of my life. It would have been her birthday today.”
The photos sparked a huge reaction from fans, with plenty noting just how similar the pair look.

In the black-and-white images, her grandmother has a slim, straight nose, arched eyebrows and a defied jaw — all very similar to her granddaughter’s features — and it wasn’t long before fans commented on the physical similarities between the two.
One commentator wrote: “Oh wow, the eyes and the mouth are nearly identical.”
Another added: “You look so much like here. Especially the eyes.”
While a third wrote: “What a beautiful woman. You look a lot like her. Wow.”
Meanwhile, the Moulin Rogue! star, who regularly pens touching posts on social media, previously shared a heartwarming tribute to her husband Keith Urban on Valentine’s Day. Sharing a gorgeous snap of the pair from the Golden Globes in January, she wrote: “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2006, have two daughters together, 10-year-old Sunday Rose and seven-year-old Faith Margaret. They regularly speak openly about their love for one another and Nicole previously revealed what keeps the flame alive between her and Keith.
Speaking to Harpers Bazaar magazine in October last year, Nicole described her marriage to the country music star as “really good”, revealing they both make sure to switch off from the stresses of work when they’re at home in Nashville, USA, together.
“Obviously I work hard, but when I’m off, I’m off,” the 51-year-old Australia actress said. “Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that’s very simple, quiet and nourishing because we’ve made it like that.
“We’re pretty strict with the boundaries on what we allow in terms of work into our home. I used to have an office in my house and I just got rid of it – it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I finally went, ‘This is not a good thing.’
“We don’t have a TV in our bedroom, we’re that couple. I highly recommend that. And no computers in bed.”
