Dolly Parton has revealed which actress she thinks would be a good fit to play her in an upcoming feature about her life and career.

The admission, unveiled in a recent interview with Mr Nashville Talks, comes as Dolly revealed she had been in previous discussions about a possible Broadway musical biopic, before the global pandemic changed her plans.

“We were walking about doing my Broadway musical and we were really, really far out ahead of that, and then Covid hit and that changed my mind about a whole lot of things,” revealed Parton.

Despite this, Parton admitted she still intended to fulfil her Broadway dreams in the future, but would likely focus her efforts on producing a biopic feature in the meantime.

“I do intend someday to be on Broadway, but I’m thinking now I might do my life story as a feature,” she said.

Parton then went on to reveal who she feels would be a good fit to play her in the future Broadway role, giving fans a possible teaser of what’s to come.

“I love Kristen Chenoweth. She’s absolutely fantastic,” she said.

The news of a rumoured biopic come after Parton announced to Entertainment Weekly that she will be hitting the big screen once again with her first-ever major movie role in over a decade.

Parton has teamed up with Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine media company to turn her best-selling novel Run, Rose, Run into a movie adaptation.

“I haven’t been in a movie in a long time, so it’s about time,” Parton told Entertainment Weekly.“This will be very special,” Dolly said.

“I’m going to be playing the part of Ruthanna who is the older character. She was once a star and now she’s retired. Pretty much like me with the exception that I’m not retired and never intend to be” she said.

The 9 to 5 actress is currently promoting her novel, Run Rose Run, alongside her companion album which were both released in early March.
