Demi Moore has long be known for her age-defying looks, but the actress left fans scratching their heads when she unveiled a dramatic new look on the Paris runway this week. The 58-year-old made a catwalk cameo during Fendi’s 2021 fashion show in a sleek black off-the-shoulder jacket and slacks, but fans of the A-lister couldn’t help but point out that the actress’ face looked markedly different.
It’s not clear whether it’s the doing of Fendi’s highly-skilled make-up artists or plastic surgery, but the actress’ cheeks, lips and nose looked noticeably different.
Demi shared a short clip of her catwalk debut on her Instagram, and it didn’t take long before fans of the Ghost star flooded the comments section with questions.
“Honey, what did u do to your face!?” one fan asked. Another commented: “Did she have major plastic surgery?” While a third wrote: “She made a big mistake.”
However, one fan tapped into the bigger issue facing many older women, saying: “If we could all age gracefully without the pressures of looking like our younger self, this wouldn’t even be a convo. There is a bigger problem here that goes un-noticed. She did this to herself because she felt ugly for getting older. The idea of having to stay young is cruel in itself.”
Demi has been open about ageing in the past, telling W Magazine back in 2019 that she’s grown to accept her changing looks.
“The biggest difference, I think, is that I’m not in nearly as good shape physically as I have been before, and I have skin going in a direction that I would prefer it not go,” she said at the time. “There are things that just come with getting older. But I think my big mantra for this year is about acceptance.”
The actress also revealed her secrets for her youthful-looking complexion telling the magazine “less is more”.
“I think my biggest thing is really that less is more, as it’s much easier to keep a routine going if we keep it simple, so it’s doable,” Demi said. “Look, I don’t have any super big secret. But I definitely think beauty starts on the inside. You can do anything you want to the outside, but if the inside isn’t looking or feeling good, then I don’t know if anything you do on the outside is going to be good enough.”
