It’s safe to say no one enjoys cleaning up food gunk and grease off your kitchen sink. But one savvy mum has revealed a simple trick to getting your kitchen sink sparkling clean — and it only requires four ingredients you probably already have laying around your house!

The woman who goes by the name Mama Mila on the new teen app TikTok, which allows users to share videos, says all you need is some bicarbonate soda, vinegar, lemon to disinfect the area and baby oil to maintain the shine.

“So easy you can do it while waiting for your dinner to cook,” she captioned the clip. “Deep clean your sink using natural products you already have.”

The savvy mum first sprinkled some bicarbonate soda in and around the kitchen sink before lightly scrubbing the area with a sponge. She then poured white vinegar on top to disinfect.

She then quickly rinsed the sink with water, before rubbing the area with half a lemon to deodorise the surface. And, to get the sink looking super sparkly, she buffed the sink with baby oil.

“Look how shiny it is!” one TikTok user replied, while another added: “Good to know!”

This isn’t the first time the mum has gone viral on the popular video-sharing platform, as last month she revealed how to clean your microwave with just two ingredients. The woman said all you need is one cup of water and one teaspoon of dishwasher detergent. To get started, simply mix the two ingredients together in a jug.

Then pop the jug inside the microwave for four minutes. Why? As the liquid boils it condenses on the sides of the microwave, loosening gunk and dissolving food splatters. Then wipe down the inside with a clean cloth starting with the ceiling and sides — you’ll be surprised with how easy the grimes comes off! If your microwave has a turntable, lift it out and wipe clean.

“No more scrubbing,” Mama Mila wrote on the video. “Gently wipe the microwave and watch the grime slide off. The steam environment softens all the stubborn, baked-on food and makes it very easy to clean.”
