Mazda has sweetened the deal for Aussie drivers looking to get behind the wheel of its popular CX-60 SUV, unveiling a new entry-level option priced from just $44,240 before on-road costs.
The new variant – powered by Mazda’s reliable 2.5-litre four-cylinder Skyactiv-G petrol engine – promises to make the mid-sized SUV more accessible, while still delivering the comfort, safety and technology features buyers have come to expect from the brand.
Sharper sticker price – and a drive-away deal
The CX-60 G25 will be offered across Mazda’s Pure, Evolve and Touring trim levels, with pricing ranging from $44,240 to $52,240 MLP. For those quick off the mark, Mazda is offering an enticing introductory drive-away price of $47,990 for the Pure, making it one of the best-value large SUVs in the premium space.
With a starting price under $45,000, the CX-60 G25 comes in well below many rivals like the Toyota Kluger, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Subaru Outback, making it an appealing option for cost-conscious drivers who still want comfort, safety, and space in a premium-feeling SUV.
What’s under the bonnet?
The new G25 engine produces 138kW of power and 250Nm of torque, matched to Mazda’s refined eight-speed automatic transmission and driving the rear wheels. Fuel consumption is claimed at just 7.5L/100km on the combined cycle, making it a sensible choice for those balancing power with economy.
Equipment highlights
Even the entry-level Pure comes generously equipped with modern features, including:
Move up to the Evolve and Touring trims, and extras include larger digital displays, leather seating, heated front seats, a power tailgate, and advanced driver monitoring.
A familiar look, more options
Buyers will still have the eight-strong colour palette to choose from, including Mazda’s premium Takuminuri finishes such as Soul Red Crystal and Rhodium White.
Why has Mazda added the 2.5L?
Mazda Australia says the arrival of this new engine option was driven by customer demand. Managing Director Vinesh Bhindi believes the G25 will hit a sweet spot for buyers, likely accounting for around a third of CX-60 sales each year.
“With a proven powerplant, elegant KODO design and a strong list of standard inclusions, the CX-60 G25 makes premium motoring more accessible to Australian families,” he said.
When is it available?
The Mazda CX-60 G25 is now on sale, with first customer deliveries scheduled for next month.
