Spicy chicken and garlic meatballs

Share:

These red hot meatballs will have any spice-lover drooling at the very sight of them. The bite-sized balls can be perfectly served up as a tasty and clean appetiser that guests will absolutely fall in love with. They are even better with a rich dipping sauce, so it would definitely be worth investing in a ranch or aioli sauce that could be served up alongside the meatballs to compliment all of the varying flavours. These are super easy to make and the result is almost too good to believe!

Ingredients

  • 500g ground chicken
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons chilli powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red chilli flakes
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200C. Line baking tray with heavy-duty foil. In a large bowl, combine chicken, garlic, chilli, salt, cumin, paprika and chilli flakes. Mix with hands to make sure the chicken is well coated.
  2. Separate sections of chicken and form into meatballs by rolling between palms. Place on a baking tray. Continue for all of the chicken. Bake for 15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine honey and cider vinegar. Stir. Remove meatballs from the oven. Use a brush to coat each meatball with a honey mixture. Place back in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the chicken is completely cooked through. Serve hot.
