Check this out… cruising just got cool!

If you thought cruise ships were reserved for baby boomers and above, think again.

At the 825th Hamburg Port Anniversary celebrations, in Germany, the captain of the cruise ship MSC Magnifica decided to swap the traditional horn blast on entry to the port with a fantastic rendition of a popular song by rock band The White Stripes, an American duo who rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The horn-blown version of the Grammy-winning Seven Nation Army was received with rapturous applause by the crowds stood on the port waving the ship in. The song’s underlying riff is well known throughout the world – here at home, the track ranked number 20 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 of All Time back in 2009.
