Flashback: Mowtown classic reaches number one in 1964

On this day, this classic Mowtown hit reached number one in 1964 and stayed there for four weeks. It is considered one of the most popular songs of the late 20th century and was ranked #324 on the Rolling Stone list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The song is sung by the Supremes and is the second of twelve of their songs to go to number one in the United States.

The Supremes continue to hold the record for the Mowtown band with the the most number one singles. Stevie Wonder is currently in second place with ten number-one singles.

This innocent song about teenage love… can you pick it? It is “Baby Love”.
