Fans of the hulking, no-nonsense drifter Jack Reacher have plenty to look forward to this year. Prime Video used its panel at San Diego Comic-Con to unveil the official trailer for Reacher Season 4, alongside the first teaser for a highly anticipated spin-off series, Neagley – and there were a few genuine surprises dropped along the way.
Reacher Season 4 returns on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, launching with its first three episodes before rolling out a new episode weekly through to 16 September. On that same finale date, all eight episodes of the new spin-off series Neagley will drop in full, giving fans a big month of new content across both shows.
This season adapts Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in Lee Child’s globally bestselling Reacher series. Alan Ritchson returns as the title character, who finds himself pulled into a dangerous, high-stakes conspiracy after a chance encounter with a distressed stranger on a subway goes badly wrong – drawing him into conflict with dangerous figures operating at the highest levels of power.
Joining the cast this season are Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson.
For long-time fans, this is the bigger news. Neagley marks the franchise’s first expansion beyond Reacher himself, handing a full series to fan-favourite character Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, who has appeared alongside Ritchson since the very first season back in 2022.
The new series follows Neagley, now working as a private investigator in Chicago, as she’s drawn into a dangerous case after a beloved friend from her past is killed in a suspicious accident. Drawing on everything she learned from her days serving alongside Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, she sets out to uncover the truth, with Ritchson himself appearing as a guest star.
Speaking with Variety at Comic-Con, Sten revealed that the spin-off will finally dig into Neagley’s mysterious backstory, something the franchise has kept largely under wraps across three seasons of Reacher. “There’s a whole mystery behind her background and what happened to her and why she is the way that she is,” Sten said, adding that she’s excited for audiences to finally learn more about the character.
Sten also confirmed that Neagley stays true to the tone fans expect from the franchise, opening with a dark, sudden act early in the first episode before Neagley and her team set out to make those responsible pay – a structure she said the writers deliberately carried over from Reacher’s own storytelling tradition.
The Neagley cast also includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole.
Beyond the trailers themselves, the Comic-Con panel delivered a couple of genuine surprises for fans. Ritchson confirmed that Reacher Season 5 is already in the works, based on Lee Child’s 20th novel in the series, Make Me. And in an announcement that caught even the audience off guard, Sten revealed that Lee Child, together with author Yasmin Angoe, will publish the very first Neagley novel, titled Zero Margin, in March 2027 – extending the character’s story into print for the first time.
Both Reacher Season 4 and Neagley will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, including Australia.
