Most Baby Boomers remember living through Beatlemania the first time around and audiences in London were treated to a serious blast from the past when Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited live on stage. The incredible moment was captured on video and has been shared across social media.

Paul, 76, was playing his Egypt Station show at London’s iconic O2 Arena on Sunday evening when fans spotted a very famous face watching on in the audience. It was none other than Ringo, who, along with Paul and the late George Harrison and John Lennon, made up one of the most successful bands in history.

“Mini Beatles reunion at @TheO2 tonight as Ringo Starr has turned up to watch @PaulMcCartney,” Showbiz journalist for British publication The Sun wrote on Twitter. “Incredible.”

A photograph of Ringo surrounded by fans taking photographs was also uploaded to the social media website.

Concertgoers then confirmed that Roger Daltrey from rock band The Who and Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood were also in the audience. If that wasn’t enough, fans were then treated to the ultimate performance when Paul pulled Ringo, Roger and Ronnie onstage for a special song.

The foursome performed the iconic Beatles track, ‘Get Back’, much to the delight of those in the audience and Beatles fans who watched the clip online from around the world.

Fans were quick to praise the mini-reunion.

One person on YouTube said: “It’s always great to see Paul and Ringo playing together.”

Another said: “Paul McCartney w [with] Ringo Starr. A little Beatles reunion. How sweet!”

A third added: “Amazing! So wish I was there.”

Paul’s daughter Stella also took to Instagram with a sweet selfie of her famous father, his bandmates for the night and another famous face who was in attendance.

“Emma Thompson a couple of Beatles a stone and moi… kick ass tonight dad,” she captioned the photograph.

It’s not the first time this year that there’s been a Beatles reunion of sorts. In August, Sean Lennon and James McCartney caused Beatlemania by posing together for a photo.

Fans around the world are in awe of how much James, 41, looks like father Paul McCartney and how Sean, 43, resembles the late John.

Sean is John and Yoko Ono’s only son, but has a brother from his father’s previous relationship with Cynthia Lennon. Meanwhile, James is one of four children to Paul and his late wife, Linda.

Did you ever see the Beatles perform when you were younger? What’s your favourite Beatles song?
