Andrea Bocelli is one of the most well-known names in music right across the globe and it seems he’s passed that winning talent on to his son Matteo. The pair have teamed up for a stunning duet, showing the world their close bond in a sweet video.
Andrea, 60, sent fans wild – with many admitting they were even reduced to tears – as he shared the video for new single ‘Fall On Me’ on his official YouTube channel.
The legendary singer takes to the piano to accompany Matteo as he opens the song and the second his son starts to sing, Andrea’s pride is evident as he breaks in to a huge smile and continues to play beside him. Taking over for the next verse, he then shows off his own stunning vocals before the pair come together in amazing harmonies later in the tune.
The video meanwhile shows the pair back to back as they both perform, before Matteo lovingly guides his father across a room. Mid-way through, fans are treated to a stream of intimate family photos of Matteo’s childhood, showing him cuddling his father as he laughs beside him.
Both Andrea and Matteo sing in English and Italian throughout the song, in a heartfelt tribute to Andrea’s heritage.
The video was flooded with adoring comments, with fans commenting on their close bond and the incredible vocals throughout.
One wrote: “That smile Andrea gave when Matteo started singing says it all. A father’s pride and love. Matteo is very handsome, too!” While another added: “This was so beautiful. I have always loved you, Andrea. Now to hear you sing with your son, Matteo, is a double blessing. At 3:20 in this video, I got actual goosebumps hearing both your voices blending in those high notes!”
Meanwhile another fan commented: “The smile that Andrea makes when Matteo starts to sing was so heartwarming. Love the song. It brought me to tears.”
According to Classic FM, Matteo was born in October 1997 and will celebrate his 21st birthday this year. He has teamed up with his father on a few songs in his new album, named Si. Their single ‘Fall On Me’ will be used as the soundtrack to the end credits of upcoming Disney movie The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.
The site claims Matteo’s brother, Amos Bocelli, will also feature on their father’s new album. He plays piano on acoustic version of ‘Sono Qui’ (I am Here) and ‘Ali di Liberta’.
