The cow that wants to be a dog… so cute!

Nov 08, 2015

There is a little bit of fun trending on Twitter this week… and it is a little calf named Goliath.

This tweet has travelled far and wide with 30,000 retweets, and it has helped the story of Goliath come out. According to Country Living, Goliath was born extremely thin and sick, and was rescued by Shaylee Hubbs.

“The family named him Goliath because he was so strong, and he grew and prospered in the warmth of their love. Soon, Hubbs noticed that their Great Dane, Leonidas, starting mothering Goliath (even though Leonidas is a male).

“He would lick the little cow on the face and try to nudge him to stand up,” Hubbs told CountryLiving.com. “He would lay down with the sick little cow for hours just to keep him company. Leo, of course, was so bewildered at what the cow was trying to do and thought it was a fun game to play.  The Great Dane and Holstein bull became the best of friends.”

The family apparently went out one day to feed the other animals and came back to find Goliath was missing from his place in the backyard near the house where he was being cared for.  They looked everywhere, and after a time went indoors to find him perched on the couch… And the picture above is history.

In subsequent tweets, Hubbs revealed that Goliath also eats dog food and loves being scratched under his chin.

And he now even has his own Twitter Handle. @goliaththecow
