Bringing real Christmases to life

We’re getting in the Christmas spirit today.  British retailer Sainsbury’s has created a Christmas advertisement that brings real life to life.  Called “Christmas in a Day” the ad is made from clips that were sent in by their customers last year.  More than 450 hours of footage was sent in and it has taken more than 14 months to complete the ad, which you can watch below.  It has been launched officially overnight at the BAFTAs.

The three minute short film is directed by Kevin Macdonald and produced by Scott Free Films and Ridley Scott Associates. The director has previously won an Oscar for his documentary One Day in September.  He said, “Christmas is the one time in the whole year when ordinary British life is suspended. We have time to contemplate life and be with those we love.”

It’s real, it’s British, and it is worth watching to the last screen which gave me goosebumps!
