User-generated content

Starts at 60 is committed to giving a voice to Baby Boomers and welcomes user-generated content (or UGC), from our community of over-60s. In fact, we pride ourselves on giving a loudspeaker to the voice and listening to the heartbeat of the Baby Boomer generation, and seeking out ways to make our readers’ lives better, more fun and more exciting.

User-generated content might sound like some sort of crazy ‘buzzword’, but it is the most efficient and effective way of giving over-60s the microphone so you can get your message across.

Here I am fossicking for Opals I’m Lightning Ridge, Outback NSW. Well, actually I was pretending- fossicking is not my thing. But we just loved our visit to Lightning Ridge. Probably the most unusual, quirky town we have visited. . This area is famous as Black Opal Country & is said to produce the best Black Opal in the world. That said, the town attracts large numbers of opal miners. They take out a small lease and begin digging. We were warned to not wander off the designated areas as there is a very real risk of falling down a mine shaft. . This is not a pretty town. But the people have a great sense of humour, a “can do “ attitude. These qualities are reflected in the sights we saw, particularly on the mining fields, where many live. . For us, the fact the town, & the people’s lifestyle, is so different is where the intrigue is. No use travelling to see the same old, same old. . . #retireesenjoyingtravel #travelsomeheredifferent #quirky #lightningridge #travelnsw #opalminingtown #fossicking #nomadlife #retiredlife #travellife #roadtrippin #roadtripadventure #blackopalcountry #outbacknsw #exploretheworld #travelaustralia #over60travel #travelat60 #wheretonext
