Trump vows to fight grounded travel bans

Donald Trump in Nashville.

President Donald Trump’s travel bans have been grounded.

Twice.

But it hasn’t stopped his bracing for a long legal battle to get his bans upheld.

Two federal judged have ruled against the ban, suggesting religious bias.

Trumps first attempt at limiting travel from six mainly Muslim countries was halted last month by federal courts.

Most recently a federal judge in Hawaii froze the plans to close US borders to nationals of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days.

The judge’s ruling on Wednesday also halted a 120-day suspension of the US refugee admissions program.

Mr Trump, addressing supporters late Wednesday in Nashville, said he has prepared to take the fight all the way.

“The law in the Constitution gave the president the power to suspend immigration when he deems it to be in the national interest of our country,” he said.

“We are going to take our case as far as it needs to go, including all the way up to the Supreme Court. We are going to win.”

More recently Trump tweeted a link to the Budget Blueprint which contains the following message:

In these dangerous times, this public safety and national security Budget Blueprint is a message to the world—a message of American strength, security, and resolve.

This Budget Blueprint follows through on my promise to focus on keeping Americans safe, keeping terrorists out of our country, and putting violent offenders behind bars.
