Trump ridiculed for shoving NATO leader

The US leader has been enjoying his first overseas trip as president.

US president Donald Trump has been seen on camera shoving aside Nato leader Montenegro Prime Minister Dusko Markovic to get to the front of the pack for a photo.

Trump is in Brussels meeting with Nato members for the first time and appeared keen to stand in the front row as the group prepared to pose for the camera.

He was seen pushing past Markovic without acknowledging him and pursed his lips as he stood in front of the group.

The high-profile Nato meeting is Trump’s first chance to come face to face with many of the member nations he has been critical of in the past.

The president has made no secret of his annoyance over member nations “not paying what they should be paying” and relying on the US to foot the bill for expensive military operations around the world.

He gave a fiery speech at the summit last night where he accused multiple countries of ripping off American taxpayers.

“For 23 of the 28 member nations are still not paying what they should be paying and what they are supposed to be paying for their defence,” he told the room full of world leaders.

“This is not fair to the people and taxpayers of the United States and many of these nations owe massive amounts of money from past years and not paying in those past years.

“Over the last eight years, the United States spent more on defence than all other Nato countries combined.”

The summit was also the first time Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May have come face to face since she vented her frustration at the US for leaking intelligence information about the Manchester bombing to media.

British police stopped sharing intelligence information with US authorities after the name of the suicide bomber was shared with media outlets, a leak the Brits say is damaging to their investigation.

What do you think of the video? Are you glad Trump’s sticking to his guns on this one? Or should he try to work harder with fellow world leaders?
