It’s been the question on many people’s lips in the past few days… will Donald Trump honour Barack Obama’s deal with Australia to take some of the refugees on Nauru and Manus Island?

There’s been a lot of will he and won’t he questions, and mixed messages from various official sources including the Australian Government, the White House and the US State Department

And now,  Trump himself has finally spoken out about it.

The POTUS used his now infamous Twitter account to blast the deal.

“Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!” he wrote.

It’s another twist for the deal, which has gone from certain to maybe to unlikely and back around in circles in recent days.

Just as recently as this morning Malcolm Turnbull was saying he was sure the deal would go ahead, as was the US Embassy and State Department.

Trump’s tweet comes just hours after the Washington Post reported on details of a phone call between Trump and Turnbull in which the US president reportedly described the refugee deal as “the worst deal ever”.

It’s sure to make you wonder, what will happen next?

What do you think about this? Do you think the deal will ever go ahead?
