Sir Tom and Lady Melinda were married for 59 years before she lost her battle with cancer.
“A heartfelt Thank You to all who sent notes of their sympathy and support to me and my family over the last couple of weeks. So many beautiful and meaningful things were said, and reading these genuine and lovely messages has lifted us all. See you soon,” his message on Twitter reads.
If you’ve ever lost a loved one you know how hard life can be after they’ve gone.
Sir Tom had been in Australia for the Byron Bay Bluesfest and a string of sideshows before his wife’s death, and cancelled a number of his tour dates in Japan, Thailand, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates after.
The Welsh singer and his lovely Lady had known each other since they were 12 years old, and were married in 1957 at the age of 16.
Lady Linda opted to stay out of the limelight when her husband first found fame in 1965, with hit song ‘It’s Not Unusual’ but was always an important part of the multi-award winning artist.
