Swat or brush? Viral video of the Trumps raises questions

It was the swat heard round the world…but who swatted whom?

Major new outlets across the globe have reported on the apparent “swatting” away of US-President Donald Trump’s hand by none other than his wife, Melania. 

You know you’re under close scrutiny when the brush of a hand is a major incident, complete with slo-mo video and media dissection. 

The video shows the pair walking along the red carpet in Tel Aviv after touching down in Israel on Monday.

But when the president reaches for the former supermodel’s hand, she appears to swat it away.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz even went so far as to slow down the moment before posting it online. 

This is President Trump’s first foreign trip as commander-in-chief.

And while not much has been reported on the fact that Trump is the first sitting president to visit the Israel wall, there’s been plenty of chatter and speculation over why Melania didn’t want to hold her husband’s hand. 

Maybe he suffers from sweaty hands? Or maybe she’s had enough of his whinging.
