Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, for former it Girl and friend to the Royals, died of a perforated ulcer and didn’t have a brain tumour, her sister has revealed.
Author Santa Montefiore’s tweets explained that a coroner found that the socialite died of natural causes.
“Tara’s good friends and family know that she was in high spirits in her last days,” Montefiore tweeted. “She had plans, trips and had written a moving new song.”
A family statement released later and reported widely by UK newspapers said that Palmer-Tomkinson’s died “peacefully in her sleep due to a perforated ulcer and peritonitis.”
A private funeral will be held on February 27, the statement said.
Palmer-Tomkinson revealed in November that she was being treated for a non-malignant tumour in her pituitary gland and had an auto-immune condition.
The 45-year-old had also been open about her struggles with cocaine addiction.
