He was in rehab for drug addiction last year and reportedly has had AIDS for a while, nearly dying from pneumonia several times. Money and talent doesn’t always bring health and happiness.

    • Shayne

So what!! He bought joy to many people’s lives. I for one think the world is a little poorer when such creative talents pass.

    • Linda Morse

Why drag that up?. He had a great talent and gave joy to so many. The world is richer for his presence. His private life was just that private. The man is dead let him go in peace.

    • Suzanne

You are a fairly cold person I would guess, he didn’t deserve to die and it is a great loss now he is gone.

    • Lee

      Always someone with a negative, isn’t there….

    • No matter what the reason for his death,it is so sad that such a great talent has left us.He was a musical genius.RIP George.

  2. Alexandra

My favourite artist of all time. I’m never gonna dance again…….RIP George

Another great artist gone too soon. My sincere condolences to his family and friends

Known as a kind generous man, he made a lot of people happy and that’s what counts. RIP George.

  5. Helen Campbell

So sad. He was far too young to die. The world has lost one of its greatest talents. His lifestyle was his own business and it will never diminish his contribution to the world of music

  6. Lynn Delmont

I so hoped this was t true. I can’t believe George has gone. One of my all time favorites. RIP George. So sad.

  7. desleigh clarke

Oh no, so terribly sad, what a great talent lost and a great soul too, and far too young.
What is it with the death of so many singers these days?? Must be a great band up there is all I can think.?

    • Annie

it amazing how people have to comment about the negative,, he was a great singer and what he did in private was his business. but none of ours.. to his family you have a long journey to travel. My thought and prayers are with you all. R.I.P. George.

Who was him? An humanitarian? A vegan (avoiding cruelty)? or just a many maker? I may be wrong but I have never hear from him saying poor children of Syria… Palestinian or any others abused in discriminated…Any way que en paz descance en los brazos del SeƱor.

    • Jane

Oh Elena what a very sad comment, no matter what he, you or I did or didn’t do, at 53 it’s a huge loss
To his family, pls think about how they would feel reading your remarks,

    • Maureen Copestick

Elena Learn to spell and pronounce things properly,if you knew nothing about who he was, then ,keep comments to yourself. Disrespectful.

    • Andy Barton

Elena, if you don’t know who George was, why bother to comment ? The situation in Syria has nothing to do with him, but I can guarantee you this. I’m certain George would have loved to see world peace in his lifetime. If Syria is such a concern to you, may I suggest you go there and do what you can for those children who you are using as tools for your pathetic grandstanding.
To everyone else, condolences for the untimely loss of yet another great musician of our time. 2016 has claimed many, but most were getting advanced in their years. George and Prince being notable exceptions !

  9. Alison Armstrong

What personal decisions George Michael made, are his business and no one elses. Bad form to report this sort of thing.

  10. Pamela

Personal choices; personal responsibility; personal consequences!

  12. Joan Marshall

People’s private lives has nothing to do with George’s talent I liked some of his songs. RIP George.
