Sally Field shows she’s barely aged since her Gidget days

Sally Field seems to be eternally youthful.

The popular actress was snapped at the Tony Honours Cocktail Party. The event held at the Sofitel Hotel in New York on June 5 was to present the 2017 Tony Honours For Excellence In The Theatre and Honouring The 2017 Special Award Recipients. Looking cute as ever in a shimmering top and loose pearls, Sally was there for good reason.

The 70-year-old actress has been nominated for a Tony award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play, for The Glass Menagerie. Early reviews described her citric, unvarnished performance riveting.

Just last month she was spotted looking just as youthful and chi at the 83rd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony.

The original Gidget, Sally went on to play the The Flying Nun before her start in movies.

It has been 40 years since Smokey and the Bandit, and it was only recently that co-star Burt Reynolds said she nearly wasn’t his leading lady, because the studio thought the former Flying Nun wouldn’t be sexy enough. “I told them, ‘Trust me, talent is sexy. She is talented and sexy,'” Burt told Closer Weekly last month. The May 1977 movie release went straight to the top of the box office, topping Star Wars in the process.
