Party at Buckingham Palace ‘most fun ever’

Prince Harry, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are often out together, such as this image of them attending the Inauguration of Warner Bros. Studios.

Prince Willian and the Duchess of Cambridge, with Prince Harry, hosted a party at Buckingham Palace for children of veterans who died serving their country, but it was not a sombre affair. You can see for yourself in the photographs it was fun not just for the kids but for the royals themselves.

More than 800 children and teenagers were invited to party for the party which saw the royal garden transformed into a fun open-air festival. Entertainers at the event at Buckingham Palace today included the ventriloquist Nina Conti, daughter of actor Tom Conti, singer Jess Glynne and Britain’s Got Talent-winning magician Lance Corporal Richard Jones. There were water balloons, face painting, science experiments, beatboxing and breakdancing, and the RAF Falcons parachuted onto the palace lawns.

Kensington Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses have arranged the event as a way to acknowledge and honour the fact that a number of young children have had to come to terms with the loss of someone very close to them at a young age, having lost a parent in armed service to the country.”

Kate looked stunning, as always, in a cream crochet dress; the same one she wore to a children’s party in Canada last year.

Prince Harry gave a speech during the event: “We’re here to celebrate you and to remind you that we as a family, we as a nation, and we up and down the country will never ever forget about the sacrifices that every single one of you have made,” Prince Harry said. “You are all together, you are one community of people that have been through the same experiences and for that every single one of us here, all the organisers, the three of us the whole of our family and the whole of this nation, thank you so, so much for everything you guys have done. I can assure you that Buckingham Palace gardens have not seen this much fun, ever.”

What do you think of the trio hosting this kind of event?
