Michelle Obama shows off new hair cut in stunning ballgown

It's the hair cut that could have millions asking for 'the Michelle'.

She’s made a name for herself as one of the most fashionable first ladies ever and as she spends her last days in the White House, Michelle Obama is showing no signs of giving up her title anytime soon.

Michelle and Barack attended the annual Kennedy Center Honors and the pair both turned up the style stakes looking absolutely gorgeous as they walked the grand hall hand in hand.

The first lady wore a gorgeous designer gown with an off-the-shoulder deep V neck and an embellished little bow around the waist. The sparkly number had a very festive and Christmas feel to it and perfectly showed off Michelle’s signature style.

The president kept it classic in a tuxedo with a small American flag pinned to his lapel.

While Michelle’s dress caught everyone’s eye, it was her new hair cut that really got everyone talking. Most baby boomers will remember all the wild hair trends that caught on over the years and it looks like Michelle has just started a new one.

Gone are the days of the beehive and “bigger is better!” hair, it looks like today’s young mums are all about Michelle’s sleek new look, with many already hitting up their hairdresser for ‘the Michelle’.

Her sleek bob is a new look for the first lady who has mostly worn her hair in curls over the past few years.

Of course it’s not the first time a famous face has spawned hair style mayhem. Back in the 60s, first lady Jackie Kennedy had women everywhere replicating her ‘pillbox perfect’ haircut, while Dusty Springfield championed the beehive.

Model Twiggy was the ultimate ‘mod girl’ with her short blonde cut and Elizabeth Montgomery from ‘Bewitched’ had millions of women asking for the ‘Samantha flip’.

Those were the days!

Did you have any of these hair styles in the 60s or 70s? What do you think of Michelle’s new look?
