No doubt you’re sick of hearing and reading about the US election by now.

But there’s one view of the election that’s going viral – and it has the world really thinking.

Legendary Hollywood filmmaker Michael Moore has been of the outspoken celebrity voices during the election campaign.

In fact, you might remember that he made a prediction that Donald Trump would win the election.

Well, now he’s taken to social media in the aftermath – and his “Morning After To-Do List” has been shared, viewed and commented on hundreds of thousands of time in just a few hours.

Here’s Michael Moore’s Morning After To-Do List:
1. Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.
2. Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn’t let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must “heal the divide” and “come together.” They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.
3. Any Democratic member of Congress who didn’t wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that’s about to begin.

4. Everyone must stop saying they are “stunned” and “shocked”. What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren’t paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all “You’re fired!” Trump’s victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.

5. You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: “HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!” The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don’t. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he’s president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we’ll continue to have presidents we didn’t elect and didn’t want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there’s climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don’t want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the “liberal” position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above).

Let’s try to get this all done by noon today.

What do you think of Michael Moore’s to-do list? Do you think he raises a few valid points?

  1. Alan Craddock

Wouldn’t expect anything else from a left wing socialist foghorn

    • Elaine Henderson

No, but you’re obviously a right wing conservative knob, so there you go.

  2. Liz

I think he makes a lot of sense. There has to be some reason why ‘group think’ has prevailed.

  3. Emily

After the rude, & absolutely abysmal way he treated an elderly man, Mr Charlton Heston, obviously in the throes of Alzheimer’s, I couldn’t give a flying f@&$ what he has to say.

Mr Heston gave him the best reply, by standing up, & walking away from him, leaving him floundering. This was Mr Heston’s right, as Moore was in his (Heston’s) home.

Moore’s a ‘few kangaroos’ short in the top paddock’, IMHO.

    • Frank

did they get that gun out of Charlton Heston’s ‘cold dead hands’ yet – or did they bury him with it ?

      • Emily

What Mr Heston said was the NRA’s motto, & as the President of the NRA, he would say those words.

Mr Heston was a 9th Generation American, & believed in all his Country’s Rules, & Amendments’.

He wasn’t buried with ANY of his rifle collection. They’re still at his house, securely locked away, as they always were.

        He was cremated.

  4. Colin connally

Moore is saying the only reason he’s elected is because of the insane 18th century idea ,does that mean he is saying ever other President before trump was not wanted as President .
    Give us a break

    • Lee

No Colin, Moore is saying that the electoral college system (the 18th century idea) can cause us to have the person who got the most votes across the country (popular vote winner) not become president. This hasn’t happened with all past presidents, just 5 times including Trump: 1824 (JQ Adams was picked by the House even though Andrew Jackson won the popular vote and more but not enough more electoral college votes) 1876, 1888, 2000 (Gore won more votes across USA). For all the other presidential elections, the winner in the electoral college also won the popular vote. It could even be considered that the electoral college “rigs” the election in favor of less populace state – which of late have been the “red states”. He is advocating we actually elect a president based on who got the most votes. With modern technology for quickly counting votes and communicating results, some of the usefulness of the electoral college have gone away since the 18th century. Though there are some useful functions of the EC still and it would take a constitutional amendment (2/3 of congress and 3/4 of states) to change, so pretty unlikely. But maybe you knew some or all of that and just wanted to complain about Moore. If so, give us a break.

  6. Guy Flavell

“Legendary Hollywood filmmaker” my arse !!! This bloke has made several unmemorable
and universally ignored docos aimed at appealing to his low-life left wing mates. He has
absolutely no cudos whatsoever and should be dismissed as the moron he adequately reflects. Just another bleating left-wing loony whining about the success of the American
middle class in electing Trump as their hopeful savior.

  7. Moore is a complete buffoon of the brainless kind. He has no integrity. I saw a video of him during the election campaign trying to pull down and discredit Trump and fully promote corrupt Clinton. This left wing hack wants his commentary both ways. As someone here has already mentioned, do Moore’s comments about “the popular vote” mean many of the USA’s previous Presidents were not wanted because of their (USA) insane voting system? If you want a proper voting system make it compulsory to vote and have a team of candidates worthy of the Presidential Office. The current ridiculous system allows those with the most money, most corrupt and most “connected” to manipulate the system and the media to gain office. Moore certainly is not “a legend” he’s a brainless, left wing, big mouth goose, who can’t accept an election result, he doesn’t agree with. In other words, irrelevant!

    • Frank

ad hominem attacks being the natural territory of the conservative who lacks actual facts – may I return to you in kind – you sir are very spiritual – you sound like a complete r soul !

  8. brisvegas

I would consider my self middle road politics and i think a lot of what he said makes sense the right and left as stated in the media are too extreme. Look at the way they talk, Bolt, Jones etc, nasty conversation and thats why Pauline is getting so much following. Main stream politics have forgotten the people who put them in, the swinging voters, the ones who change.

  9. Kay

Can’t believe anyone would stick up for Charlton Heston who lobbied for guns in the community.

    • Emily

…….and Kay, you say this ‘on authority’ because you knew Mr Heston, or his family?

      • Mary Magor

Emily, do you know him personally, I lost all respect for the man promoting guns.

  10. Neil

Good one Michael, you nailed. Will be an interesting 4 years, thank goodness I don’t live in the USA…

  11. Joan Marshall

The corrupt HILLARY and all her left wing supporters cannot take the thrashing they got. I burst in to tears of joy when Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Donald is their only hope of cleaning out the swamp in Washington. If it were any one else other than corrupt Hillary they might have stood a chance. Is America ready for a woman President? YES but not this one. Hillary says she could not break the glass ceiling? how come other women of other countries managed to break through the glass ceiling like Golda Meyer, Maggie Thather, Benazir Bhutto, Indira Ghandi they had almost squeaky clean records. They had a lot to offer the people. Hillary Clinton is a liar, a cheat, a power hungry money hungry woman. Thank God she lost or America and the world would carry on being in chaos.
