Mark Latham tests Turnbull’s ‘Multicultural’ Australia

In a flurry of press releases and press conferences, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull states that Australia “is the most successful multicultural society in the world.” Outspoken former Labor leader Mark Latham thinks that it’s a “disgrace.”

For his Mark Latham’s Outsiders Facebook page, not to be confused with the Sky News Outsiders program he was a featured on before being sacked for inappropriate comments made on air. In a new video released on his Facebook page, Latham visits the Southwest Sydney suburb of Fairfield, which happens to be where Labor’s Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen was mayor from 1998 to 1999.

What Latham claims to have found was something he called a “disgrace”.  In the video, Latham approaches a number of locals to talk to with most of them saying they can’t because they don’t know English.  Latham states, “It’s quite disgraceful, how can we have a proper cohesive multicultural community if people don’t even speak the basic language of the nation?”

Latham also states that there is a cultural enclave before setting his sites on Chris Bowen saying “It’s a disgrace that Chris Bowen and others have allowed this to happen”.

What do you think? Do you think that Latham has a point or that he edited the video to support his opinions?
