Life has been pretty tough for Mariah Carey since she split from Australian billionaire businessman James Packer. The 46-year-old popstar was involved in the Time Square performances on New Year’s Eve, but things just didn’t go to plan and she stormed off stage.

Carey was due to sing two songs — ‘Emotions’ and ‘We Belong Together’ — before the ball dropped at midnight, but a technical issue left her out of sync with her lip-syncing track.

It was a bit of a disaster for the singer and when it was obvious she couldn’t get a grip with what was going on she just stopped trying completely, putting her hands on her hips and letting the vocal track do the work for her.

Dressed in a figure-hugging skin-coloured bodysuit, Carey was obviously miffed about the trainwreck that was her performance and was quick to let her frustrations be known.

“I’m trying to be a good sport here,” Carey told the crowd as she paced along the stage in frustration.

Her back-up dancers certainly were good sports, opting to carry on with the performance despite being obviously confused when Carey said, “It is what it is. It just don’t get any better” and stormed off the stage.

The star took to social media claiming that her performance had been sabotaged and later tried to brush off the performance saying “S**t happens”.

Shit happens 😩 Have a happy and healthy new year everybody!🎉 Here's to making more headlines in 2017 😂

What do you think of Mariah Carey’s behaviour on New Year’s Eve? Has there ever been a time when you’ve just ‘thrown your hands up’ in defeat?

Might be time to Give it Away Mariah

  2. Sandy

Caught out lip syncing big time

Proserpine is a small country town in North Queensland. Back in the 70’s Australian Singer Julie Anthony performed there, in her touring concert of Australia. The old Movie theatre didn’t have one mod con to its name – just sling back canvas seats, let alone a change room, sound systems, or theatrical lights etc. She, and her team, put on a show worthy of the Opera House in Sydney, under unbelievably trying circumstances. Julie won my heart and soul. Now that is what I call a ‘Star’ performance.

Conversely my husband and I rushed to see internationally popular Irish singer Val Donigan (may he RIP) perform at the Mackay Theatre years later. We were devoted fans; but he whinged about the theatre, the heat, and just about everything else. We left disillusioned.

How you handle the ‘hard’ stuff says all that is important about a personality.

Absolutely not interested I this woman. give the big diamond engagement ring back or give it to charity and you may I say may go up a notch in my estimation !!!

  5. Ohh, poor Mariah!
Do you reckon, if I sent her a money order for enough currency to cover the cost of an international phone call, she might give me a ring and cry on my shoulder, as well?
I’m sure she can use another sympathetic ear to reveal exactly how touģh life is in her exotic land.

    • Robin

So sick of her and her boobs!!

  6. Lin Collins

Maybe she should have sung live instead of lip-syncing, or isn’t her voice good enough!! Real artists would have pulled it off. All she is, is a greedy DIVA and she is not that great a singer

  7. Carllen

The crying probably the only thing thats not lip synched

  8. Gavin

    Obviously not rehearsed then…………..

  9. Michelle Thornton

Lip-syncing again! If you can’t sing the song for an audience….give up, retire…heaven knows you don’t need the money!

  10. Amelia

Has this female an aversion to wearing clothes?

    Trailer trash personified!

Packer’s very lucky he got away from this weirdo!

  11. Fay

Get a life, and wear proper clothes.
