Malcolm Turnbull and the Coalition Government have recorded their worst poll results since September 2015, according to the latest Newspoll.
The Newspoll, conducted for The Australian, has delivered a blow for Turnbull.
Support for the Government has fallen to it’s lowest level since Tony Abbott was deposed as Prime Minister back in 2015.
Labor is now leading the Coalition 55% to 45% on a two-party basis, and 37% to 34% on primary votes.
Meanwhile, Turnbull’s approval rate has fallen to an all time low of -30 net satisfaction while Bill Shorten is sitting at -26.
However, Shorten still trails Turnbull in the preferred PM stakes (33% vs 40%).
So, what do the results mean?
Well, if an election was held today Labor would win in a landslide – gaining 20 seats.
But it’s Pauline Hanson’s One Nation who have the biggest reason to celebrate.
Support for One Nation has jumped to 10%, the same figure as the Greens, while support for Independents and other minor parties is at 9%.
The polls are as bad as those in the weeks before Turnbull ousted Abbott, with many pointing to the polls as a hit for his personal standing.
It comes just days after Abbott gave a scathing review of the Turnbull Government’s performance.
