The topic of motherhood and Mother’s Day had a lot of our TV personalities talking this week.

But it was a segment on The Today Show that has a lot of people talking.

On Friday’s show, Karl Stefanovic had a personal question for Lisa Wilkinson about motherhood, and she gave an emotional response that most mums might agree with.

“What do your kids think of you as a mum?” he asked her.

“That she is trying really hard, because I think you always feel like you are getting it wrong,” an emotional Lisa replied.

“There is no rule book, you just try and do the best that you can. That’s what all mums are doing every day, and that’s why we are celebrating them.”

Of course talking about motherhood can be emotional for the best of us.

Karl wrapped his arm around Lisa and said “You got a little emotional then”.

“They are beautiful kids, you should be proud of yourself.”

Lisa has three children with her husband Peter FitzSimons, and told Karl she plans to spend her Mother’s Day having lunch with them.

Do you agree with what Lisa Wilkinson had to say about motherhood? Have you ever felt like you’re “always getting it wrong”?
